I’ve had frequent headaches for my 25 years since college. A multi-month siege of severe migraine and cluster headaches drove me to consider alternatives to traditional medicine.

I went to Laurie Binder for acupuncture for my migraines and headaches as a “desperate skeptic”.

After a few weeks of treatments, the frequency and severity of headaches significantly declined. Soon after that my quality-of-life was back to normal.

I now go sometimes a week or two without a headache! That’s a real treat!

On December 20 at 0805 hrs. our little miracle (Zalen) was born. He weighed in at a hefty 6 lbs. 6 oz. and was 18 3/4 inches!!! I have been meaning to write to you for the last four months! However, it seems like it takes me forever to get around to doing anything- Taking a shower, eating and of course feeding the little monster are my main activities!!! Remember those days???

Anyway, I wanted to say thanks for all your help. Your kindness and positive attitude meant a lot to me during a crucial time that was full of unknowns, ups and downs. You have a special gift that is hard to find in people!

I must say I’m thrilled to be a mom. There is nothing like it on this planet.

We will also be trying another round of IVF with my frozen embryos sometime in the fall. When I see you I will fill you in with everything!!

Laurie Binder is first and foremost an amazing woman. I came in to see Laurie after suffering chronic neck pain which is triggered by family issues, stress, overworking, and/or humidity. I’ve had this condition “torticolis” which comes and goes ever since I was a child. I have been seeing Laurie for over a year now, and I have not had anymore issues with my neck pain. If I feel the slightest relapse, I go see Laurie and she takes care of it before it gets painful. She worked on me specifically for this at first, and furthermore helped rebalance some things that were troubling me in my family. She is a great listener, a rare caregiver, and helped restore my overall health. Let me just add that I hate needles and never in my life thought I would ever see an acupuncturist, but after looking for a long time online for the perfect person, I found Laurie. The fact she was a nurse for more than 20 years before starting her own practice proved beneficial to me.

I also wanted to get pregnant but did not wish to do so until I was completely well and serene. All of Laurie’s treatments helped me achieve this harmony. She works beyond to help her patients and would even squeeze me in her schedule when I was desperate to get well. Whenever I leave Laurie’s office, I feel so refreshed that I know I will go see her with any other ailments in the future.

Once I got pregnant, Laurie helped me with acupuncture treatments that facilitates childbirth. Since I wanted a natural birth I was hoping the treatments would help me go into labor before the doctors would induce me. I was also worried because I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, so Laurie helped relieve a lot of anxiety. In fact, the day before I was supposed to get induced, I went into labor. I know acupuncture helped, as well as Laurie’s invaluable advice with breathing techniques. Laurie also showed my husband some points he could press to help start labor, and relieve pain during labor. I called them “the eject buttons” and I am sure all of this contributed to smooth my labor. As a result of Laurie’s excellent care, my delivery lasted less than 5 hours and I was able to forego the epidural or any other kind of medical assistance to give birth to my perfectly healthy baby girl, Mathilde.

Without Laurie’s magic and hard work, I do not think things would’ve turned out so perfect. By restoring the balance in my wellbeing, I was able to prepare my body for childbearing, exercise during pregnancy and stay healthy and strong in preparation for labor. Now I have a beautiful baby girl, Mathilde who is the sunlight of my day. I would recommend everyone in the world to see Laurie but I’d rather keep her to myself!

Hi Laurie! Hope all is well. I just thought of you and wanted to say hello. Soon after Everett was born we decided to move to Scottsdale, Arizona where I’m from originally. So we’re not in LA anymore! ☹️ but I just wanted to thank you for everything. You’re truly one of the best people I have ever met! I loved coming to see you. WE’RE PREGNANT AFTER 2 ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENTS WITH LAURIE BINDER!!!

I started seeing Laurie in Dec. 2011 to help with my fertility. After only two treatments of acupuncture and in-depth counseling in changing my diet, it worked! During the holidays, my husband and I were absolutely overjoyed to find out that we were pregnant after months and months of careful, well-timed attempts at becoming pregnant (that’s an eternity for any woman trying to conceive, especially one of Advanced Maternal Age). My husband and I went through testing with our doctors and received all normal results, but were given the reason of “unexplained fertility”. We didn’t want to be let down the next month again, so we started exploring all of our options, but naturally haven’t grasped the possibility that we might not be able to conceive on our own again (we were blessed with a beautiful daughter). Before changing paths we decided to do more research, this time in eastern medicine. That’s when I found Laurie! Many of her patients have experienced profound success in a variety of personal circumstances. I didn’t need to read another testimonial to pick up the phone and make a call for my first appointment. I was so excited! After thorough review and discussion of my medical history and examination, we discussed my body’s deficiencies. I was lucky to find Laurie after looking into acupuncture after going through 2 consecutive miscarriages. I felt so lost after my miscarriages and knew that I needed a more wholistic approach to this phase of my life. My first meeting with Laurie was wonderful. She is so calm and positive. She took lots of history and was right on the mark in diagnosing me with a spleen qi deficiency. We did a treatment and discussed dietary and lifestyle changes at length. I left my first appointment feeling relaxed, hopeful and more in control of my own destiny. Fast forward just 2 months and I was pregnant again! I am now safely out of my first trimester and all is going smoothly. I continue to look forward to my appointments as I feel they continue to nourish the body, mind and soul of both me and the baby. Plus, I really look forward to my visits and chats with Laurie!

Finally, I wanted to add that I myself am a physician, so being trained in Western medicine, it is hard not to be skeptical of some of the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
